Paper by Oxford professor Nick Bostrom suggests there is a high likelihood we live in a simulation

“One thing that later generations might do with their super‐powerful computers is run detailed simulations of their forebears or of people like their forebears. Because their computers would be so powerful, they could run a great many such simulations.”
That's from Nick Bostrom's paper which suggests that there is a chance that we are currently living in a simulation created by future generations that have enough computing power to do so.
What the paper says
#simtheory is taking the world by storm. Nick Bostrom's new paper only adds to fire to the fuel. This Oxford Professor's paper suggests that if humanity progresses the way we have, we will become advanced enough to be able to simulate life and consciousness. While Dr. Bostrom does bring up the idea that humans might go extinct by the time we are advanced enough to simulate humanity, but that is an unlikely situation given how fast technology is advancing.
